Best of Both Worlds

     In the interim between finished dresses, here are a couple of mock-ups illustrating Intaglio's considerable color-blocking potential (also doubling as something of a preview for the next project). Even without abandoning basic black and white, the entire feel of the dress can be changed completely.

Lesser Variegated Intaglios

       Honestly, playing with color combinations made me want to sew even more versions, but sadly I will have to exercise some restraint if I'm going to sew anything using any other pattern ever again. So restraint it is, and only one contrasting Intaglio dress it is, albeit with a twinge of regret. 

Greater Variegated Intaglios

      I am currently sewing a short-sleeved version, combining ivory and purply-brown silk charmeuse. Cheers to staystitching, tissue paper, and spray-on fabric stabilizer!
